Fitting the Bills: Final 2025 Bills Mock

The Final PFWR Bills mock is my second this year. I previously had slotted Maxwell Hairston here to fill the glaring hole at CB opposite Benford, but rumors about off field concerns have caused me to look elsewhere. This pick needs to be a homerun, and has to be a player that is capable of transforming a defense that is just good enough to win against mediocre teams in the regular season, but consistently has folded in the biggest moments under McDermott. Safety is arguably the most important position in McDermott and Babich's D. The combination of Rapp, Bishop and Hamlin, with the occasional Cam Lewis thrown in is s serviceable Safety room, but should not be enough to prevent the Bills from adding a true general for the secondary that eats, breathes and sleeps football and is driven to win.
First time in a while I do not have a specific draft crush or two going in for the Bills. Hoping this is a workman like draft but, seeing reports teams now have a box they screen, considering NIL and proven track record of success/ failure, regarding loves the game. That was the main reason I fought so many back in the Josh vs Josh pre-draft days. One kid oozed joy and passion for the game, the other barely showed a pulse. This year, if I did have a draft crush, Malaki Starks would come closest, even though it may not be the most pressing need for the Bills. From Bob McGinn's excellent annual series:

I trust Beane and mcD to address Corner on day 2, where the talent may not be that different from what will be left when the Bills final get to the podium Thursday night. After addressing the Secondary, DT and Edge remain major needs, but given the depth in this years class, talent on day 2 may be close to any available at the bottom of round 1 but finding a plug and play Safety of Malaki Starks ability would be challenging after the 1st round. On the other side of the ball, WR remains a need, especially one that can stretch the field, and the James Cook contract situation needs to be watched, and perhaps adding a playmaking, speedster at WR at some point makes sense too. Additionally, Safety, LB and TE depth should be added. While I do not see the Bills using all 10 picks, they do have a roster that has enough holes to need to hit on draft picks all 3 days to remain competitive for that elusive Super Bowl Championship.
1st Round Pick 30: Malaki Starks, Georgia
Overall Rank: 16 S Rank: 1 PFWR Grade: Ceiling 92 Floor 75
Height: 6007 | Weight: 197 | 40: 4.50 | RAS: 5.29 |
💥Explosive Playmaker 🐶Has that Dog inside 😺Catlike Instincts 🧠High Football IQ
👨✈️Team Captain/ Leader🐃Bills Fit
Starks has been the heart and soul of a Georgia Defense that won a National Championship a year ago and has been elite since the day he arrived on campus. His instincts, durability, coverage ability, leadership and sure tackling make him one of the safer picks in the draft. The only reason he might still be on the board at 30, is the devaluing of the position. However, the Bills rely on their safeties to be field generals. The amount of information required to be processed takes an elite football mind like Starks to run. Even though the Bills have preferred a veteran at Safety given the amount this daunting responsibility, Starks has the maturity and leadership to step on the field day one and take charge, exactly like he did at Georgia as a freshman. One interesting note for us Syracuse and Bills fans, is that Fran Brown recruited and coached him at Georgia. That means he is Detailed, Accountable, Relentless and Tough (DART).

2nd Round Pick 56: Alfred Collins DT Texas
Overall Rank: 38 DT Rank: 6 PFWR Grade: Ceiling 88 Floor 75
Height 6’ 6’’ Weight 332 lbs Arm 34 5/8’’ Hand 10’’
Junk Yard Dog Massive Man Mountain 🃏Versatile 📈Unlimited Upside 👿Athletic Freak 🔨Hits Like a Hammer ⛷Downhill Player 🐃Buffalo Bills Fit
Collins is a Junk Yard dog who battles vs double teams whistle to whistle. Displays surprising quickness and agility for a man his size, and displays quick hands and an impressive arsenal of rush moves, including the occasional spin move. Texas moved him along the line, showcasing his versatility, but would be a perfect fit as a 1 tech in rotation with Daquan Jones, next to Ed Oliver. Rare to see a big man chasing backs sideline to sideline or down field like Collins can be seen on film. With continued development and NFL level training could end up being a steal for the Bills int he 2nd, and it wouldn't upset me if he was the pick in the 1st round. Only reason he might still be around for Bills this late, is the depth at the position this draft.
2nd Round Pick 62: Darien Porter CB Iowa State
Overall Rank: 77 CB Rank: 9 PFWR Grade Ceiling 88 Floor 70
6027 | 195 | 0900 | 3318 | 8000 | 4.30 (1.49), 23.89 | 36.5” | 10-11 | 4.04 | 6.71 | RAS 9.99
🥇Elite Athlete 💥Explosive Playmaker 📈Unlimited Upside ⏳Needs Time to develop 🐃Developmental Corner with Starter Potential.
A converted WR with elite athleticism and length for the position. Has near unlimited potential, and the Bills coaching staff has a proven track record of getting the most out of corners. The signing of TreDavious White may be enough to buy some time for a prospect like Porter to develop, and learn. Porter had a near perfect RAS score.
4th Round Pick 109: Isaac TeSlaa WR Arkansas
Overall Rank: 101 WR Rank: 15 PFWR Grade Ceiling 85 Floor 70
Height 6’ 4’’ Weight 214 lbs Arm 31 1/8’’ Hand 10’’ RAS 9.96
40-Yard Dash 4.43 10 1.51 Vert 39.5’’ Broad 10’ 9’’ 3-Cone 6.85 20 4.05 Bench 17
Top 30 Visitor with Bills who's stock is rising after a solid Senior Bowl and Combine. Ideal fit as an outside deep threat that has the size, character and hands to be a fit for the Bills.
Round 4 | |
4-132 | Jaydon Blue RB Texas |
An explosive back to add some insurance if contract negotiations with Cooks turn south. Blue has electric speed and would make an immediate impact as a 3rd down weapon and on special teams.
Round 5 | |
5-169 | Fadil Diggs Edge Syracuse |
Diggs transfered from Texas A&M and made an immediate impact on the Orange Defense. His on the field leadership played a signifcat role in the culture change in Syracuse. Has the physical tools and demeanor to stick as a rotational pass rusher, and core special teams contributor.
5-170 | Shaun Dolac LB Buffalo |
Dolac deserved a combine invite as an athletic and highly productive LB for Buffalo. He fits the athletic profile Buffalo looks for in a LB, and would fit right into the culture day 1 and could develop into a plus special teams contributor, which would be critical as a reserve LB.
Round 6 | |
6-173 | Rylie Mills DT Notre Dame |
Mills has a relentless motor and would provide valuable depth at 3 Tech behind Ed Oliver. Mills shoots the gap with purpose and can shed blockers and chase down QBs and backs like a junk yard dog.
6-177 | Jaylin Lane WR Virginia Tech |
An explosive receiver with 4.34 speed, good hands and excellent balance and run after the catch ability. Offers additional value as a punt returner.
66-206 | Alijah Clark S Syracuse |
An aggressive and athletic Safety with a nose for the ball. Clark led the Orange secondary, and had an impressive showing Shrine Bowl week. He posted a 4.5 40 at 6006 188 lbs. |
